Toner on Paper
I work mainly on BFK Rives and Arches Paper using Toner Powder to create artwork which is photo-real and soft focused. This allows me to play with tone, atmosphere, surface and photographic information. I live in Edinburgh, and studied at Edinburgh College of Art gaining a 1st Class BA honours Degree in Drawing & Painting and Master of Fine Art in Painting. Today I split my time working from my studio and as an Art & Design Teacher.
I have been fortunate to have won the following awards:
The W. Gordon Smith Award, RSA (2000)
James Cumming Award for Draughtsmanship ECA/RSA (1999).
Andrew Grant Award for Drawing ECA(1999)
Heriot Watt Prize for outstanding merit ECA (1998)
